Proteus is a set of software for designing electronic circuits with the help of a computer. The package is a system for simulating circuits based on PSpice models of electronic parts. The Proteus Professional package has a feature that makes it stand out: it can simulate the operation of programmable devices like microcontrollers, microprocessors, DSP, and more. A PCB design system is also part of the Proteus package. Proteus Professional can simulate 8051, ARM7, AVR, Motorola, PIC, Basic Stamp, and Basic Stamp.
