The best roto and paint tool on the market now has many important features for compositing. Silhouette 2022 comes with more than 400 nodes, such as the top plugins Sapphire, Mocha Pro, and Particle Illusion, all of which are wrapped up in a single, node-based package. Silhouette has been an important part of Hollywood’s biggest movies for more than 15 years, and it has recently left its mark on Dune, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Free Guy, and The Mandalorian. Silhouette was made by visual effects artists, and it has won prestigious technical awards from the Academy and the Emmys. It is also a member of the Netflix Production Technology Alliance.

Full of Tools for Making Effects

Silhouette now comes with some of the best tools from Boris FX.

Sapphire has plugins that have won awards and have more than 270 effect nodes and thousands of presets. This book has the best lighting effects, lens flares, and creative filters for image processing for VFX.

Now comes with Mocha Pro! PowerMesh, Remove, and Stabilize are all included. The Mocha node is connected to native nodes through new data ports and node actions.

Particle Illusion

You can make realistic simulations of particles with 3D emitters, fluid dynamics, and a huge library of presets. You can add useful parts of the environment, like snow, smoke, and fire, all in Silhouette.

More Filters

Choose Continuum nodes that can process quickly on the GPU. There are also new blur filters like Magic Sharp, Beauty Studio, Light Leaks, Video Glitch, and Film Glow.

New Nodes for the Invisible VFX

Advanced clean-up shots now have more control and freedom thanks to new nodes.

InPaint

Use the InPaint node to get rid of unwanted pixels by making textures from the image data around them. When using open splines, it works well to get rid of unwanted objects like markers, blemishes, or wires. Read up on InPaint PowerMeshWarp.

Connect the Mocha Pro node to this node using the new data ports to do “reverse warp stabilized” painting or rotoscoping quickly. It can be used to do beauty work and paint on skin and fabric.

Improvements to Tracking and Roto

With cropped tracking, the new Surface tool and DOD update give you more accuracy and speed.

With the Data Port update, the Mocha Pro node can now send tracking and spline data from Silhouette’s node graph to paint and roto, which makes workflows better. Point Control Tracking of Parameters. You can control lens flares, particles, and more by sending data to any node through tracking data ports and the new pop-up menu for the transform property.

Node Actions

Make Mocha-generated nodes without opening the user interface (UI). Copying data, making a roto node, and making a tracker node are actions that will save you time. See the video.

With the Mocha Pro node, Silhouette now supports Nuke, Fusion, Flame, FBX, and Alembic in more ways when tracking and rotoscoping.
